Benson Kabungo is a Geographical Information Systems Specialist responsible for Mapping of Natural Resources both in private wildlife estates and Government protected areas of Zambia. at the Department of National Parks and Wildlife (DNPW) head office. He recently completed a Degree in Geoinformatics at the University of Nairobi, Kenya. He also received a Diploma in Forestry from Zambia Forestry College, Mwekera, Kitwe. Benson has advanced certificate in Remote Sensing from GEOEYE in South African. He has a 15-year career in wildlife conservation covering resource protection, research and ecological management, private game management, remote sensing and mapping. He has done mapping and zoning of National Parks and GMAs in Zambia. He has also done mapping and analysis of wildlife aerial survey counts from 2010 to date. He has participated in training and supervising wildlife police officers in data capture, mapping and use of handheld GPS in law enforcement at Chunga Training College.  Benson worked as assistant ecologist for close to four years undertaking annual vegetation surveys, hippo and aerial surveys of large mammals. He spends part of his time supporting the enforcement and operations through operations data management and planning.
